Congratulations to the Boys ’94 Blue
BU15 - 94 Blue Wins Cascade Cup!
The boy’s headed to Oregon to play and started the tournament with a 1-3 loss to FCSC Juventus in a tough game at the brand new Gradin Park Sports Complex. A couple of defensive miscues cost the boy’s in this one but they played well. I n the second game of the day they played the host Eastside United Celtic and put on a clinic in the first half, linking pass after pass, unfortunately they only had two goals to show for it. In the second half they were not as crisp but got a third goal before giving one up in the closing seconds for a 3-1 win. Needing a win or tie to move on the boy’s came out strong against NWSSA and scored 5 goals in the first half of what would be a 6-2 win.
In the semi’s they faced THUSC Plutonium and battled to a 3-1 win. In the Championship they got their re-match with Juventus. The game was physical and fast with both teams battling hard. GRFC got on the board in the first 10 minutes and added two more before half to take a 3-0 lead. They held on to that lead until the last 6 minutes when Juventus put in two to close to 3-2 but the boy’s in Blue held on and came away with the trophy and a 3-2 win. Way to go!!
The Boy’s had bought Coach Fran a Irish tie and he told them that
if they won the tournament he would wear it.
He held true to his word and after the game pulled out the tie and put it on.
