Girls ’98 Blue Battle for the KCC Cup!!
Congratulations Girls and Coaching Staff

GRFC Girls 98 Blue competed in the 10th Annual Kent Cornucopia Cup with outstanding results. Game one of the tournament found the girls in a tough battle with Eastside Girls 98 B and the game ending with a 1 - 1 draw. The second game on Friday came down to a definite shut-out against Harbor FC G98, 4 - 0. Our girls were happy to get the full ten points and their first win of the tournament. On the second day, the first game definitely went our girls way winning 4 - 0 over the NW Nationals 98 white. The second game on day two was an extremely close game with GRFC scoring with one minute to go in the second half, barely winning over Synergy FC 2 -1. This win meant that we were heading to the championship game. The GRFC G98 team faced off against the competitive Eastside team on Championship Sunday. Both teams had a lot of chances in the first half, though by half time the score was still tied 0 - 0. Unfortunately, Eastside scored their first goal even though an official later agreed that their goal was in fact off-sides. The final score ended 2 -0 with Eastside winning against a very motivated and talented GRFC G98 team. Thank you to Coach Sherri, Coach Aaron and Sydney W. for helping us get to Championship Sunday. What a fantastic start to the preseason for the team.
