GRFC 94 Red started off their 2nd tournament of the season with a 0-1 loss to the Mustang Illusion (CA). It was a hard fought battle, but the girls just couldn’t find a groove. Next morning they found their groove winning game #2 - 4-0 over ESUFC Fulham (OR). Game #3 proved to be a little bit of a challange for the girls to find the back of the net. They definitely controlled the game, and finally came away with a 1-0 win over EMFC Havoc (OR). GRFC 94 Red goes through to the semis as 2nd best points overall after having to wait the outcome of the results of later matches in their division.
Sunday morning they faced Whatcom Rangers (WA) in semis. Again another tough battle, but after scoring early, the kept their lead and won 1-0. Final match was against FWU Reign White (WA). Good field (turf - finally) except it was 90+ degrees outside! First half ends 0-0. Both teams played hard and had some missed opportunities. Second half GRFC came out wanting it bad!!! They were winning 50/50 balls, playing their passing game and it paid off. When the final whistle blew they came out on top 2-0!!
Great job GRFC 94 Red on the first tournament win of the season!!!
